Tencent Cancels Square Enix’s NieR Mobile Game
According to a new report, Tencent was developing a new mobile game for the Nier series but halted development in December.
Tencent canceled the project, which had been in the works for almost two years, in part because it was struggling to find a compelling monetization model given expensive development costs and franchise rights, according to sources.
A source said the “Nier” mobile game made significant progress in development before its takedown, including a playable internal demo that showcased its solid designs in terms of both story and combat. The source said the cancellation of “Nier” did not result in any job losses because employees were allowed to be transferred to other Tencent units.
PalWorld’s Developer Warn Users About Fake Mobile Games Impersonating the Game
Palworld’s developer has warned people not to download fake mobile phone games that resemble Palworld.
Palworld developer Pocketpair said in a tweet, “There is no Palworld application for phones. Apps using names and product images such as “パルワールド” and “Palworld” are appearing on the AppStore and Google Play, but they are not affiliated with our company in any way.
We have reported this issue to Apple, which operates the App Store, and Google, which operates Google Play.
Please be aware that downloading these apps may lead to the leakage of personal information stored on your smartphone or to fraud.”
